Premium Speciality Coffee Blends
Exquisitely balanced, ethically sourced: blends crafted for clarity, depth and consistency
At BEANN Coffee we blend with intention - combining beans from exceptional farms to create balanced, complex and consistent coffee that expresses the best of each origin. Our speciality-grade blends are roasted to highlight texture, sweetness and clarity, whether you’re pulling a decadent espresso or brewing a delicate filter. All blends are traceable and sourced with sustainability and long-term farm partnerships at their heart.
Why choose a blend?
- Balance and consistency: Blends let us marry acidity, body and sweetness from different origins so you enjoy a dependable cup every time.
- Layered complexity: Combining beans reveals new harmonies — citric brightness, cocoa depth, syrupy body or floral lift — that single origin alone can’t deliver.
- Tailored purpose: We craft specific blends for espresso, milk drinks and filter to get the best extraction and flavour profile for each method.
- Ethical provenance: BEANN blends are composed of speciality lots from traceable farms. We prioritise direct trade, living wages and environmental stewardship.

How we craft our blends
- Cup-first approach: We create blends by cupping individual lots and combining lots that complement each other on sweetness, acidity, body and aftertaste.
- Roast fidelity: Each blend receives a roast profile designed to showcase its strengths - clarity for filter, body for espresso.
- Small batch blending: We roast and blend in small batches to preserve freshness and consistency.
- Traceability and relationships: We source from named farms and cooperatives with long-term agreements and pay premiums that support community and ecological projects.

Brewing guidance
- Espresso: 18–20 g for a double, 25–30 s extraction; adjust grind for yield and taste.
- Filter (V60/Chemex/Aeropress): 60 g/L as a starting ratio; adjust for strength and extraction.
- Milk drinks: Use fresher roast/date and slightly coarser grind to avoid over-extraction under steam pressure.
- Taste, test, tweak: Keep bean-to-water ratio, grind and water temperature consistent, then fine-tune.
Subscription & freshness
- Roast-to-order: We roast to order and mark every bag with roast date. Aim to use espresso blends from 3–21 days after roast and filter blends from 3–28 days, depending on taste preference.
- Subscriptions: Customise frequency, bag size and grind, with discounts and free shipping on select plans.

Sustainability & ethics
- Direct trade and premiums: We foster direct relationships with producers and pay premiums beyond market rates to improve livelihoods.
- Environmental stewardship: Supporting regenerative practices, shade-grown farms and reduced-processing water usage.
- Packaging: Recyclable or compostable options and refill schemes for local cafés.

REGULARLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Frequently Asked Questions
What is a coffee blend?
A coffee blend combines beans from two or more origins, varieties or roast profiles to create a balanced flavour that a single origin might not deliver. At BEANN, blends are designed to highlight complementary characteristics such as sweetness, acidity and body.
How is single origin different from blends?
Blends combine beans from multiple origins to create a balanced or consistent flavour. Single origin highlights the distinct terroir and can be more variable and expressive cup to cup.
Which BEANN blend is best for espresso?
Midnight Mosaic is our signature espresso blend — dark chocolate and hazelnut notes with a full body — ideal for straight shots and milk-based drinks. Resolute is a versatile alternative that works well for both espresso and filter.
Are your blends sustainably sourced?
Yes. We prioritise traceable, speciality-grade lots and work through direct trade relationships, paying premiums and supporting environmental and community projects. Several blends include certified components such as Rainforest Alliance or organic.
How fresh are BEANN blends and how should I store them?
We roast to order and date every bag. For best flavour, use espresso blends from around day 3–21 after roast and filter blends from day 3–28, depending on your taste. Store in a cool, dark place in an airtight container; avoid the fridge or freezer for daily use.
Can I get blends ground for my machine?
Yes. We offer wholebean and grind options tailored to your brewing method (espresso, moka, filter, cafetière). Select your grind at checkout or choose a subscription with your preferred grind setting.
