    REGULARLY ASKED QUESTIONS

    Frequently Asked Questions

We have put together some commonly asked questions

What is filter coffee and how is it different from espresso?

Filter coffee is brewed by pouring hot water over ground coffee using a paper or metal filter (e.g., V60, Chemex). It emphasises clarity, acidity and single‑origin flavours. Espresso is made under pressure and produces a concentrated, crema‑topped shot with more body and intensity.

What grind should I choose for filter coffee?

Choose medium grind for most pour‑over devices; medium‑fine for V60/Chemex depending on your recipe, and medium for Kalita Wave. For Aeropress use a fine‑medium and adjust for desired strength.

How fresh is Beann filter coffee?

We roast to order and dispatch within 48 hours on working days. For peak flavour, consume within 2–4 weeks of roast date.

Do you offer wholebean and pre‑ground options?

Yes — wholebean for maximum freshness and ground for filter (medium grind) for convenience. You can select grind on the product page.

Can I change grind or roast level?

Our filter roast is optimised as a light profile. If you prefer a different roast level, check our full catalogue or contact us for bespoke requests.

    Are your beans ethically sourced?

Yes. We source via direct trade agreements with smallholder co‑operatives and support farm improvements and fair pricing.
